Domestic Violence

1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience domestic violence

Understanding Domestic Violence

Domestic violence affects people of all backgrounds, ages, and identities. It includes physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and financial abuse. Many survivors feel trapped by fear, shame, or circumstances. Awareness is a lifeline. When we talk about domestic violence openly, we reduce stigma and help survivors know that support exists and that leaving is possible.

How You Can Help

Believe them. Don't judge. Help create a safety plan. Connect them with local resources. Understand that leaving is a process, not an event.
